My dad is a narcissist this hits home 😢

Lived it most my adult life. I got out when my son was 4, had a protective order for a year. Then he took me to court and won shared parenting. Even after he tried to kill me. Then 6 years later he died of cancer he went septic. It was fast. Been four years since he’s been dead and I still have flashes of feeling like I miss it.

I just found this song. It made me cry all over again. Loving a person with NPD so harder then hell. The abuse is real and this song hit home for so many reasons. I have been with her for going on 3 years now, and she started showing her true colors to me last summer. The rage fits, the control, the mental and emotional abuse. And now sometimes slight physical abuse as well. People have told me, why dont you just leave? I cry and tell them its not that simple, i tried. My partner will repeatedly stalk me.

It is hard enough to go through this when it is just you and the narc. Add 3 kids to this mixture and you have a whole other level of abuse to face . My ex never hit my kids(just me) but he played mind games with them that lasted until now, and they are in their 30's. One is in the very spot I was, 3 kids and an abusive man , he hurts he in EVERY WAY. She stays and makes excuses while she cries. We (My now husband of 24 yrs) have been to her rescue many times. WE have been to the rescue of my other daughter too . My son just walked out on the whole family for a controlling , court ordered medicated female. Now my current husband is going through some stuff and is taking it out on me. I just tell him to leave and walk it off and not come back until he can talk like an adult . He is always there for my girls but barely here for me. I am disabled now and on my own is not an option . But stopping someone from hurting me IS. No excuses for allowing yourself to stay where you are not valued .

Reminds me of my abusive ex...every time he hit me he would say "look what you made me do" ,"I'm sorry it won't happen again" and then when he broke my arm and hurt my daughter his mom would say "maybe do as your told and it wouldn't happen"

Can relate. My dad is like this to my mom. You have no idea how hard it is to be a child with these kinds of parents. They’re always fighting. They never agree on anything. Anywhere you go you can’t even have a good time bc they won’t stop bickering over every little thing. Yelling in public about where a store is located. It’s so embarrassing and everyone stares. Sometimes as the kid you even have to tell them to stop. Sometimes I tell them to stop but I’m scared I’ll get yelled at. Whoever else is a child with these parents I wish you good luck and to anyone in a relationship like this if you don’t leave them and you have kids with them one day make sure to notice how this effects them.

Wow. What a lovely song. Everytime I listen to you its so hard for me to hold my tears. As a victim dealing with mother and sister are Narcissist that treating me like an enermy. Does not matter how much I pour my love and show how much I care. I feel empty. If I say something Its become my fault that I hurt their feeling so I cant't say anything and willing to bite and suffer. Sadly They will never care because they only see themselves perfect and powerful and if you ask them to seek help. That will never happen. As a victim. we only can recognize that's how they are and either work around it or stay away. They are very good to lour you back into their game so they can feel more superior cause they know that you love them. We must live and learn to love ourselves first. Its no use to beat your head against the brick wall. I only can wish whoever suffer from dealing with person with Narcissist personality. Get help. You are not a bad person. You are good and you deserve more. Trust your self and don't let other BS to bring you down. XO
